Our Story
A starving musician becomes a mechanical engineer with a passion for project management and woodworking? Strange, but true.
Meet Adam
A general contractor with an expertise in energy efficiency and a background in high end home building, Adam’s story is somewhat surprising. A starving musician in his twenties, he began buying fixer uppers and remodeling them out of necessity (a lifelong “tinkerer,” he enjoyed working with his hands). He later returned to school to study mechanical engineering while working at a renowned residential energy efficiency firm. This led to a career in project management and quality assurance in high end home building, which he enjoyed until he and his wife decided to slow down, quit their jobs and start a family.
During this “time off,” Adam remodeled their rental properties and their personal home, leading friends to ask for help building custom bookcases and built-ins. Then friends of friends asked for small remodels. Then big ones.
And just like that, Marigold was born.
